our history

a great semolina tradition

The “Grands Moulins de Bellevue” were owned by the Marseilles-based family firm Etablissements Ferrand et Renaud.

BIRTH OF ONE OF EUROPE’S LARGEST SEMOLINA PLANTS

The Gennevilliers semolina plant was built along the Seine by Bertrand et Cie. At the time, the site also included a pasta production unit.

CONTROLLING THE AGRICULTURAL CHAIN WITH THE 1ST BELLEVUE SEMOLINA PLANT

The “Semoulerie de Bellevue” company was created, integrating the Saint-Just semolina plant in Marseilles.

MoulinLittoral

A 2ND BELLEVUE SEMOLINA PLANT

A new mill entered the Bellevue perimeter: the Ste Marie mill, located in the La Montre plant. In order to expand the La Montre plant, PANZANI bought the Silo de la Madrague together with the Littoral plant (dismantled in 1973). The Ste Marie mill was dismantled and the Littoral mill was put back into operation.

the Silo de la Madrague, emblematic of Panzani’s Marseilles roots

The 50-metre-high Silo de la Madrague, adjacent to the Littoral plant, was bought. This silo received its wheat directly from the Autonomous Port of Marseilles.

couscous

BIRTH OF THE COUSCOUS PLANT

This plant, located in Vitrolles (13), is France’s leading couscous producer. In 2002, Panzani increased its stake in Férico from 50% to 100%.

a 3rd Bellevue semolina plant

The Gennevilliers mill and plant were bought. The pasta plant was dismantled and the mill was used to supply semolina to the Nanterre plant.

Semoulerie de Bellevue’s perimeter was thus reinforced with 3 mills.

3 semolina plants yes, but Panzani!

Semoulerie de Bellevue merged with Panzani.

food service expertise

Panzani Food Service launched its new Panzani Plus brand.

launch of our Ultra-Resistant pasta

Our Ultra-Resistant pasta were created, designed to withstand cooking and maintain a perfect texture under particularly demanding conditions.

a shift towards ingredients

Semoulerie de Bellevue changed its name to Bellevue Ingredients & Solutions. In addition to our wide range of semolina and couscous, were added new high value-added ingredients and solutions.

an application centre dedicated to customer innovation

The Durum Centre was created in Gennevilliers, an application centre to promote and add value to durum wheat.

Panzani Solutions was born!

Panzani Solutions was created, bringing together the Panzani Food Service and Bellevue Ingredients & Solutions teams under a single unit, and the Cook Show was created, our demonstration kitchen on the Gennevilliers site.
