Our 3 commitments

Selecting 100% French*, responsible durum wheat

At Panzani, we’re 100% French* at every step of production! The wheat used in our products is grown, milled and processed in the French countryside. Our wheat, which is harvested in France, has a beautiful golden-yellow colour and a protein quality that ensures our pasta withstands cooking perfectly.

Helping preserve biodiversity with a more sustainable agricultural chain

By supporting French wheat growing through our Responsible French Wheat agricultural chain, we are acting for a more sustainable agricultural chain and for quality food
With our partners, we have co-constructed a set of specifications that encourage practices that favour biodiversity.

Preserving the French agricultural chain
helping farmers

Panzani processes around 75% of the durum wheat used in France. The long-term future of the agricultural chain is a concern shared by all those involved.
That’s why Panzani
financially supports its growers, and has set up a co-construction process to work with a network of experts to secure the future of the durum wheat agricultural chain.

Panzani is committed and this is evidenced with concrete actions!

Helping to reduce our environmental impact

  • Part of our supplies come from the Responsible French Wheat agricultural chain, to which we are committed, with our farming partners, to contribute to the respect of biodiversity and remunerate farmers’ know-how at its fair value.
  • Developing alternative modes of transport (trains and barges) to bring part of the durum wheat to our semolina plants.

Growing durum wheat in France

In France, durum wheat production is mainly concentrated in 4 areas: South-East, South-West, West Ocean and Centre. As a winter cereal, it takes nine months from sowing to harvesting.

French durum wheat is renowned for its high vegetable protein content, which makes it ideal for the production of high-quality pasta. It is mainly harvested in the south-east of France – a hot, dry region.
