The brand’s name comes from its founder, Giovanni Panzani, who became Jean Panzani, born in France of Italian parents. He created the brand in 1950 and introduced the French to the pleasure of pasta. And ever since, we’ve been perpetuating our trade as semolina makers and pasta makers in France with the same care and passion.
Panzani pasta is made in France with 100% French durum wheat.
This durum wheat is harvested close to the processing sites:
– The Genevilliers semolina plant and the Nanterre pasta plant are located in the northern half of France.
– The Marseilles semolina and pasta plants are located in the southern half of France.
The durum wheat comes from 50,000 hectares of fields located between 50 and 400 km maximum from our mills.
Panzani is helping transform the durum wheat industry towards sustainable agriculture through the Responsible French Wheat programme.
To secure the future of the French durum wheat agricultural chain, Panzani has set up multi-year contracts and bonuses to reward best practices.
Panzani has 2 pasta production sites in France, located in Nanterre and Marseille.
Panzani’s target is to achieve 100% recyclable packaging by 2025.
In addition, the company is actively researching alternative solutions including bulk and re-use.
